How it started

Found by a group of professionals who are passionate about simplifying their work life by thinking outside the box

We have seen the difficulties faced by New Zealand contractors in their daily operations due to labour intensive manually driven work-flows. The delays and losses are inevitable with such inefficient structures and it is often not feasible to keep fulltime professionals to manage these complexities.

Thinking ahead, we started integrating estimating, budgeting and cost controlling in a cloud based system. Along the way it developed towards a comprehensive solution with hardware options like IoT devices and now we are able to offer customized automation solutions for independent needs of different scales of construction and consultancy companies.

Kavinda Yasith Founder & CEO

Kavinda Yasith, the Founder of Coninnova is a Chartered Construction Manager (MCIOB) and a Professional Quantity Surveyor (MNZIQS) with over 10 years of industry expertise working with a range of clientele from Dubai, Oman, Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Kavinda holds a Masters degree in Construction Management (NZ) and a B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying and Construction Management (UK).

Dumitha Vitharana is a Quantity surveyor by profession with years of experience who is deeply entrenched in the dynamic world of civil construction. With a strong foundation in quantity surveying, he has channelled his expertise into the realm of technology, co-founding ConInnova. His innovative thinking and passion for technology makes him an invaluable asset for ConInnova’s vision and future goals.

Stuart Roberts Technical Strategic Advisor

Stuart Roberts is a registered Quantity Surveyor (MNZIQS), over 40 years in the Construction Industry; 30+ years in New Zealand and 10+ years in overseas countries. Stuart has vast experience in the industry and is also currently working as an academic lecturer at UNITEC institute of technology in Auckland. Stuarts’s 40 years of experience and a wealth of knowledge in the field brings invaluable expertise, strategic thinking, and mentorship abilities to the ConInnova team.

Joshua Woo is the founder and a director at JW Legal which is a capital raising and commercial law expert advisory firm based in Auckland. He has graduated from the University of Auckland. Prior to founding JW Legal, he worked at specialist corporate transactions firms, including Harmos Horton Lusk and Webb Henderson and also was a senior associate at a boutique law firm in Auckland.

Vijitha Paranagama (VJ) is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (FRICS) and Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv), over 40 years in the construction industry; 15+ years with Rider Levett Bucknall, New Zealand. VJ has vast experience in the industry at various levels and capacities, namely Senior Project Quantity Surveyor, Engineer to Contract, Client Representative, and Bank Quantity Surveyor; 20+ years in senior level and 10+ years at management level.

Sharla Franklin provides administration and client support to ConInnova. She has a Bachelor of Education with 20 years of teaching in 3 different countries. She is also a Certified Bookkeeper of the New Zealand Qualified Bookkeepers Association.

Eshantha Samarajiwa, the Senior Quantity Surveyor/ Solutions Designer at Coninnova is a Certified Cost Engineer and Quantity Surveyor with 9+ years of experience in Cost Control & QS in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Along with a B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying Eshantha holds MAcostE and MAIQS accreditations.

Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic and Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Applied Electronics. With his 7+ years in industry experience, Nandun contributes to Coninnova as the Solutions Engineer.
